Wall Street

Introduction

Wall Street is the financial district of New York City, named after its wall-like street layout. It's a center for global finance and trade, but it's also home to some of the most powerful people in America. Here are the top five investment managers on Wall Street:

John Paulson

John Paulson is an American billionaire hedge fund manager and founder of Paulson & Co. He is famous for making a fortune betting against the housing market in 2007, a move that earned him $4 billion and made him TIME's Person of the Year for 2008.

John Paulson was born on December 28, 1956, in Queens, New York City to Greek immigrant parents who owned a small diner near Shea Stadium. He attended Harvard University and graduated with an AB in economics summa cum laude with departmental honors before attending Harvard Business School where he received his MBA degree.

In 2006, John Paulson founded his own hedge fund called Paulson & Co., which focuses on distressed securities trading -- buying up assets that have been subjected to factors such as fraud or error by management or investors who are unable to pay their debts back when due (see: subprime mortgages).

James Simons

James Simons is the founder of Renaissance Technologies, one of the most successful hedge funds in history. He has a net worth of $18 billion, which made him the third-richest person on Wall Street in 2016. Simons was born in New York City to parents Raymond and Lina Simons on July 5th, 1938.

He attended Brooklyn Technical High School before attending Queens College where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. In 1959 he began his Ph.D. studies at UC Berkeley but never finished them due to budget cuts at Berkeley. He eventually completed his Ph.D. work at Harvard University after being hired by professor Marvin Minsky as an assistant professor there."

Simons then took a job at IBM working on code-breaking problems during this time he also taught math courses at MIT while working on his Ph.D. until 1966 when he left IBM due to disagreements over how they were handling money-related issues like patents and copyrights which caused tension between him and management."

Conclusion

All in all, this was a very interesting article for me to read. It was great to get an inside look at some of the most successful investors in the world and their strategies for making money. I’m sure there are a lot of things that could be learned from these people but one thing stands out for me: consistency and persistence! If you have a good strategy and you stick with it over time then trust me - your chances of becoming rich increase dramatically.
